Junior Girl Raiders beat Hanley Sabers

DAVIDSON-The Davidson Raiders junior girls basketball team last Tuesday beat the Hanley Sabers 55-24.
The Raiders took an early 6-0 lead in a low scoring first quarter, allowing Hanley to score four points in the opening frame, which ended 8-4 for Davidson. The Raiders played better in the second quarter, dominating the offence and keeping most of the action down in Hanley's end of the gym to take a 26-12 lead into the half. The Raiders stepped up the play to score 22 points in the final quarter of the game. Hanley's Chery Randall led the Sabers with 20 points while teammates Monica Rogers and Blair Norris had a basket each.
On the Raiders' side of the score sheet, the team's depth showed all players contributing to the winning effort. Courtney Read had 12 points with Taylor Cross chipping in 11 and Jasmine Smith adding 10 points. Erica Diebel had 8 points and Paige Hodgins had 7 points. |
