DAVIDSON-Wet weather failed to put a damper on Logan Kadlec's plan to be the best high school-aged bull rider in Saskatchewan.

Kadlec won the Saskatchewan High School Rodeo Association (SHSRA) finals in Martensville June 4, 5 and 6.

He took home the SHSRA's bull riding champion saddle, the champion belt buckle and the champion year-end bull rider buckle.

He also had a productive weekend May 22 to 24.

He went from his high school grad in Davidson on Saturday night to the back of a raging bull down in Weyburn on Sunday and Monday in an event held by the SHSRA.

He came in first on Sunday and placed in the top three Monday, good enough to win the bull riding average for the weekend and take home a buckle.

By clinching the average in Weyburn, Logan also won the SHSRA year-end buckle for bull riding.

Later this summer he will be in Gillette, Wyoming for the National High School Rodeo finals.

In August, Logan is off to Hobbs, New Mexico to attend New Mexico Junior College. He received a full scholarship and will compete on the school's rodeo team and study welding.

His mom Gloria says that his school experience will allow Logan to do his two favourite things: ride bulls and weld.

Logan picked New Mexico because by going to school there, he could ride bulls year round. When he's not competing on the collegiate circuit, Logan will ride in open bull riding competition.
